Project Description
Project Overview
A previously installed pitched roof conversion had blown off the school roof in high winds due to an inadequate fixing system. BBR Roofing were subsequently commissioned to install a new pitched roof over the original flat roof, following a specification produced by consultants AA Projects.
A Euroclad built-up roof system was specified, consisting of a metal liner tray, mineral wool insulation and an aluminium standing seam outer skin. Aluminium bull-nose eaves and verges were specified to complete the perimeter of the roof. This covering was applied to a custom-designed lightweight steel framing system, secured to the existing flat roof structure.
A particular design feature was the infill of the gable voids, created by the pitched conversion, which were completed with a multi-coloured Trespa panel fascia system.
Each panel was a different size and shape, and the order required ac-curate and precise cutting instructions for the panel fabricators.
