Project Description
Project Overview
The various flat roof areas of this large Midlands school and sixth form college, comprising of stone chippings on an old bitumen felt roof covering had reached the end of their natural life.
Consultants E3 Cube investigated and specified a replacement roof covering utilising a Langley Waterproofing system.
Having decided that the existing waterproofing, although old, had not been compromised, a specification involving the removal of the chippings followed by a power washing was produced.
An overlay system using self-adhesive vapour control layer, PU adhesive bonded insulation boards – cut-to-falls to provide satisfactory roof drainage – self-adhesive underlay and a torch-applied cap sheet was specified and installed by our skilled operatives, all in accordance with our ‘Safe-to-torch’ policy.
This project was carried out entirely during the 2020/21 Covid19 pandemic, with all health & safety protocols strictly adhered to.
