Project Description
Project Overview
The original bitumen felt roof covering on Cheadle Hulme High School had been refurbished at some point with a liquid applied waterproofing system, but still retained a lot of ponding water after rainfall. This in turn was leading to the growth of algae and moss on the roof surface which created danger for anyone accessing the roof for maintenance.
Surveying practice AA Projects were appointed to design and oversee the implementation of a new roof waterproofing system and subsequently specified a Tremco bitumen felt covering incorporating cut-to-falls insulation.
The tapered insulation system effectively eradicated the ponding water issue, while the Tremco elastomeric bitumen felt waterproofing provides a robust roof covering which will remain watertight for future generations of pupils at this Academy.
