Project Overview

Established in 1959, Hotter is a leading UK designer, manufacturer and retailer of stylish and exceptionally comfortable footwear with a strong focus on prod-uct quality, design and customer service. Headquartered in Skelmersdale, Hotter operates from one of the most advanced shoe making facilities in the world and sells over two million pairs of shoes each year in the UK and internationally.

When the roof of the factory became due for refurbishment, BBR Roofing were appointed to install a Bauder bituminous overlay roof covering as well as replac-ing 60 large rooflights with custom made Bauder Euroglaze rooflights.

Requiring close liaison with the factory management, particularly with regard to removing and replacing the rooflights, in order to prevent any disruption to the 24 hour manufacturing process, the works were programmed and carefully exe-cuted over a twenty-six week period.
The Bauder roof system was provided with a twenty year guarantee, but can be expected to continue protecting the factory for many years after that.
